Southern Cross Care takes home silver medal at prestigious Quality Service Awards

Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT has been named the Silver Winner in the Aged Care and Retirement Villages category at the Reader’s Digest Australia Quality Service Awards.

The Quality Service Awards recognise organisations that go “above and beyond” to exceed customers’ service expectations and is considered the “ultimate seal of consumer approval”.

Winners were chosen based on a national survey conducted by an independent market research agency, gathering insights from 2500 Australians who rated companies across five key pillars of customer service: Personalisation, Understanding, Simplicity, Satisfaction, and Consistency.

“This award is a testament to the commitment, care, and hard work of our teams, who support more than 4000 clients and residents across our network of Residential Care, Home Care and Retirement Living sites,” Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT CEO Monique Reynolds said.

“Our vision at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT is to help older people live their life to the full, and every member of our teams – from customer service staff through to frontline carers – brings a deep commitment to this vision.

“I’m incredibly proud of the hard work and heart our staff bring to making a meaningful, positive difference in the lives of those we care for – they truly deserve this recognition.”

Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT Regional Director Erin Glanville accepted the award on behalf of the organisation at an awards ceremony held at Sydney’s Sir Stamford Hotel on November 21.

“This award means so much to us because it reflects the voices and views of everyday Australians and members of our communities – the very people we are dedicated to supporting,” she said.

“From the very first conversations with prospective residents, clients, and their families to the ongoing care and support provided, our staff consistently place the individual at the heart of everything they do. They take the time to listen, understand, and build meaningful connections, tailoring their approach to meet each person's unique needs.

“It’s also a real inspiration to keep pushing forward in our mission. To strive to improve every day, and to keep looking for new ways to enrich the lives of clients and residents.

“I’d like to thank our incredible team, whose hard work and dedication is recognised by this award, as well as the wonderful residents and clients for putting their trust in us and inspiring us every day.”

Reader’s Digest Australia is a well-known general interest magazine with a monthly readership of more than 600,000. The Quality Service Awards have been running for 11 years, recognising companies that understand and value consumer needs.
